Camp 2004
4th - 14th july -Auchengillan International Campsite,
Scotland.
Welcome
On
Saturday 3 july we left cork airport heading for
glasgow but this was slowed down by the fact paul
collins had tryed to smuggle two dangerous implement
in the form of two drawing compasses and dave was
asked to remove his boots. Once all da was over
it was a smooth hour and a quarter flight to Glasgow
and a quick trip out to Auchengillan international
campsite which was to be our home for the next
week and a half .The rest of Saturday was spent
putting up da site and cooking a three and a half
hour fry.
On Sunday we went to the local town of blanefield and getting to know the campsite.
On Monday we took our first trip into Glasgow today we spent getting used to
all the streets and where all the shops are. Tuesday we walked into milngavie
pronounced milinguy ( leave them off there Scottish) here we did the crucial
food shopping. And being true venturers we got the bus back to the campsite.
Wednesday was started off by a session off rock climbing which was enjoyed by
everyone. In the evening we went absailing were Kieran thought he was in the
sas and tryed to absail into the door of the tower but failed miserably . Thursday
was spent in stirling and seeing stirling castle. Friday was spent in scotland's
capital Edinburgh which is where we met Mark Keane.
